Bad Marthamommy!

So I recently pulled a Martha Stewart and even wrote a journal entry at Maya's Mom about the fabulous Valentine's Day cards W and I made (complete with nice comment about each classmate).

But then, five minutes ago, my friend and fellow preschool mom called me at work to tell me about the basket of over-the-top homemade gifts (pink and red homemade Playdoh wrapped in celophane with a heart shaped cookie cutter attached for EACH child) that one kid, eh mom starved for appropriate attention, had brought to school for the TUESDAY V-Day PARTY.

Bad Mommy. I helped my kid spend hours making these Valentines and then promptly left for work before the sun rose today and forgot that he needed to actually bring the damn things to school. Some kids go Tues and Thurs. Some go Mon, Wed and Fri. My kid - ever the noncomformist - goes Tues Wed and Thurs, so we always get two parties for each holiday (don't think I didn't plan that). Well, I'm actually working in his classroom tomorrow (I work all holiday parties. That's my M.O. I sign up on the first day of school to co-op on party days for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Xmas, V-day, Easter, and of course, MOTHER'S DAY). I'll have to atone for my forgetfulness tomorrow, thus the reason I'm still awake at 10pm (heart shaped cookie and muffin baking).
